TITLE: Gush Shalom Calls for International Force - Joins Anti-siege Actions

Gush Shalom joins other peace groups anti-siege emergency actions and has itself sent out an urgent appeal to the foreign ambassadors in Israel for an international protection force (the text - will tomorrow be published as an ad in Haaretz and Jerusalem Post).

Protest demos

Today (Monday, 12.3) - initiated by Peace Now and joined by as many as possible others - at 5 PM Defense Ministry, Kaplan Street, Tel-Aviv. Tomorrow (Tuesday, 13.3) - initiated by the Women's Coalition and joined by others - at 5 PM simultaneously in four cities:

* Tel-Aviv: Opposite the Defense Ministry

* Jerusalem: Opposite the Prime Minister's home

* Haifa: Opposite the Giyus Office (corner of Gan HaZikaron)

* Amakim: At the Tel-Adashim junction on the Afula-Nazareth Road Friday, 16.3. a Jewish-Arab demonstration in Nazareth - initiated by Hadash, others invited - at 4 PM; transportation from Tel-Aviv Arlozorov Railway Station at 2 PM.

Politis is the legal adviser of the Military Government's Civil Administration. Please refer to demolition order # 9825 from the Jenin area regarding the clinic of the Al-Akaba village. As we announced earlier, the demolition order for the improvised clinic (after months of siege) was served on 28.2.01 and tomorrow there will be an appeal at West Bank military headquarters at Beit El. (You may ask how a clinic endangers anybody's life)
