Video Documentaries made by American Jews supporting Palestinian Statehood Historical Background: During the first Palestinian Intifada an organization known as The Jewish Committee On the Middle East (JCOME) published a major Statement calling for a fully sovereign Palestinian State and a suspension of U.S. aid to Israel until Israel ended the occupation. The very carefully crafted initial JCOME Statement titled "Time to Disassociate from Israel" first appeared as a full-page ad in February 1988 in THE NATION Magazine signed by 18 persons, many professors, rabbis, and lawyers. The next month, signed by many hundreds of American Jews, it was published in THE NEW YORK REVIEW OF BOOKS. In the next few years JCOME then went on to purchase approximately 100 pages in many publications in support of the Palestinian Intifada and Palestinian Statehood. In addition JCOME produced two professional video documentaries which were shown on more than a hundred cable channels throughout the U.S. in the later years of the Intifada before the Oslo Agreement.
