The American news agency, Associated Press, says the Israeli army has promised an investigation into an incident in which a seriously wounded Palestinian was ignored by Israeli troops. The agency says an Associated Press APTN cameraman filmed the apparently unarmed Palestinian speaking to a soldier in an area of the West Bank town of Hebron which was under curfew. The cameraman finished filming and turned away, but turned back when he heard shots. He filmed the Palestinian lying on the ground with a leg shattered. Associated Press says the footage showed several Israelis walk past the Palestinian, try to stop the filming and then stand around for several minutes before going to the Palestinian's assistance. It quoted an Israeli colonel Olivier Rafowicz who saw the footage as saying the incident was very grave. END |
