TITLE: United Response to Terror

Hello all As a young woman, as a Jew, as an anti-racist I am horrified and devastated by the turn of events this morning. It is important in this time of horror to remember a few key things: 1. The media and politicans will frame the response to these attacks in the next 48 hrs. We must participate in the public process of framing the issue. 2. There is a real and frightening possibility of backlash against the Muslim/ Arab-American community in the US. 3. As a NATIONAL network and as student groups we have the potential to take action. Hold vigils, CONTACT LOCAL MEDIA and bring them into your world, give them your message. 4. STARC is drafting a sample email that student/community activist groups may choose to send to their local Muslim/Arab-American communities to represent our solidarity in this time of impending persecution. Stay posted.
